Now the government has increased the price of platform tickets to control this congestion. Let us know that the new price will be applicable from today i.e. 22nd.
In order to decongest or control the congestion at the station, the price of platform tickets has been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at several major stations in Mumbai on Saturday. However, this increased price has been kept temporary. After the festival season is over, the platform ticket price will be reduced again as before.
PRO gave this statement: Central Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Shivaji Sutar said on Friday that the new rates would be applicable at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan and Panvel. These stations are the busiest junctions for long distance trains. And they will remain in force till 31 October.
